About YouCanCalc

An independent project building calculators for decisions that involve real money — with the math shown, not hidden.

What this is

YouCanCalc is a library of calculators for real-world money decisions: pricing freelance projects, sizing sponsorships, checking SaaS unit economics, working out true ecommerce profit. The goal is simple — replace the back-of-napkin guess with a number you can explain line by line.

How we build

  • Transparent math. Every calculator publishes its full formula on the page, and the results panel shows each step of the calculation. If you can't see how a number was produced, we consider it unfinished.
  • Honest defaults. Where a starting value is necessary, it's clearly labeled as a suggested starting assumption and fully editable. We don't publish made-up industry rules as facts.
  • Client-side by design. Calculations run entirely in your browser. Your hours, rates and margins never leave your device.
  • Tested engines. Calculation logic is pure, isolated from the interface, and covered by unit tests — including edge cases like empty, negative and extreme inputs.

What our numbers are

Every output on this site is an estimate for planning. Calculators can structure a decision, but they can't know your client, your market or your costs. Treat suggested assumptions as starting points and adjust them to your business before relying on any result. Nothing here is financial, tax or legal advice.

Where we're going

YouCanCalc launched in 2026 with one calculator — Freelance Project Pricing — because pricing is where guesswork costs people the most. The roadmap covers five clusters: Freelance & Pricing, Creator & Sponsorship, Startup & SaaS, Ecommerce, and Tech & Media. Tools ship one at a time, when the math is right. You can browse the full roadmap on the calculators page.
